Tiana Demetriou is a Naarm (Melbourne) based acupuncturist and Chinese medicine herbalist, driven by a deep appreciation for the ancient wisdom and Daoist philosophy that fuel Chinese Medicine. Tiana’s commitment to her client’s well being is reflected in every aspect of her practice, as she strives to create a welcoming and safe space for transformative healing.
Tiana’s unique perspective and artistic sensibilities inform her acupuncture practice. In 2015, she shifted her sculptural and spatial practice to focus on the individual body, driven by a desire to create meaningful change in people's lives. Her interest in the human form and sculpture extend beyond the physical, as she is equally inspired by the felt sensory experience and evolution of people and life itself. Throughout Tiana’s sculptural practice she has been concerned with tangible form and structure, and how they elicit a sensory, intangible feeling in the viewer. Today, her understanding of form and tactility has carried over to her acupuncture practice, where she collaborates with her clients to co-create transformative experiences through physical touch, form and sensed feeling.
Empathetic and intuitive, Tiana brings her creative thinking, and adaptive skills to every session, helping to shift and soften the experiences her clients have in their daily lives. As a practitioner of Chinese Medicine, she recognizes the profound power of this ancient wisdom to heal and evolve. Tiana feels it is a privilege to accompany her clients through their process of self healing and transformation.
